Well, this year hasn't been much easier than the last. Still a lot of problems to fix and busy as ever. There are some things on the horizon that are giving us some hope. It looks like I have a good change at having enough vacation time to do what we planned this year. That's the first step for that. My work is letting me make up a lot of my missed time so I'm not having to take vacation time. That's a big help. It's been way too long since we got away for any length of time. I've been on more business trips that vacations over the past few years.
Ari's surgery is going to be on May 2. We're not sure if it will be in the new Children's wing at Hopkins or not as that opens the day before. So we'll see. With her having the surgery then, she should be fully recovered for our trip. She'll be allowed to go into the ocean and run around to some degree. I'm just hoping she's fully recovered for her birthday party. If not, I'll find a way to get her around to see everything. Same plan as last year for that. She loves the farm and is always talking about having her party there.
Lily is not up and walking yet, but she can pull herself up and she's climbing the stairs. I can't believe her birthday is only weeks away. As rough as last year was, it flew. Seems like I didn't have enough time to enjoy much of it. We're still hoping to change that this year. My new job is going well and things are starting to fall into place. Ari is down to two specialists instead of four. That cuts down on appointments, lab work, xrays, MRIs, etc. I always hate the MRIs. Since she's so young, they need to put her under for the scan. Actually, I'm not sure she's even allowed to get them anymore with the metal in her back. I haven't asked about that.
