We made it through Halloween with both kids intact. Ari went as Rapunzel and Lily went as Minnie Mouse. We're planning on bringing their costumes to WDW with us and having the kids wear them in the parks at some point. At this point, Ari seems to be using the holidays as a way to judge how much longer until we get on the airplane. She knows it needs to be Christmas time and she knows she has to wait until after Thanksgiving. Other than that, she really has no sense of how much longer it will be, and Lily of course is too little to understand what's going on. I have a feeling she's going to explode though when we get in there and see a larger than life Mickey or Minnie standing there in the park (or in their meet-and-greet structure). Another interesting item to note is that Ari has been going through a growing spurt and is now 42 inches tall, which opens up more rides she could potentially experience although most of them would probably be too much for her back.
Amanda is preparing for Black Friday. She has her lists and we're making plans for who need to be where and at what time. Target seems to be light on good items this year so it sound like we'll be skipping it. As usual, we'll be going to Toys 'R' Us just like we have every year since Ari was born. That's fine with me as I'm sure they'll have some sort of Skylanders sale since I've had a bit of an unhealthy obsession with them as of late (I actually have all of the original 32 figures from the first set, plus the 4 legendary and 2 unpainted figures). It's a fun simple game with a good hook in having all the figures you can level up. Getting back to Christmas shopping, we know what we're getting for Ari. Lily is still really easy to shop for but we're trying to avoid just getting a lot of little toys or stuffed animals, as we currently have an entire room full of toys that both kids can barely get to most of the time. We're in the process of turning our dining room into their play room which is working out quite nicely so far. Ari even has a little table in one of the corners to do her school work which admittedly isn't much as this point and mostly involves coloring.
