In a room

We're up on 10S in room 14. She's still pretty out of it so they're keeping an eye on her, but all her vitals are good and she not in any pain. Time to go down to lunch since my parents are here and can watch over her.

In post-op

It was pretty quick this time. She's still asleep but resting comportably and waiting to go up to a room. All went well with the surgery and we're good for another 9-12 months.
We'll be here overnight and hopefully heading home early tomorrow.

Asleep and back in the OR.

She went out pretty quick this time. They're getting her ready for surgery now and will give us a call once the actual procedure begins. For now, we're grabbing breakfast and begin waiting.
Lily is at school now thanks to Mom mom Wood. She's worried about Ari so hopefully she has a good day at school.

Waiting to go back

We're back in pre-op waiting to see all the doctors. Surgery is scheduled to start at 8:45. Going over Ari's normal list of things she doesn't like and waiting to start.

Getting ready to head home

Ari has done everything she needs to go home. She still has a lot of healing to do and probably won't be walking on her own for a while, but she is walking with help. She needs mostly rest and pain killers for the next few days at least. Since they adjusted so much, her body will need to get used to the position of the rods again, so most of her upper body is sore, even with the medicine.

Moving to post-op

The doctor just came and talked to us. Everything went well, but they had to make more repairs than they originally thought. Both rods needed to have the anchors replaced at the top. Her bones are a little thin where they usually go so they had to improvise a bit, which isn't unusual for her. Her bones never cooperate. It looks like they got a real solid placement this time around so hopefully this is the last repair she will ever have to go through.

Update

We got an update. They've still got a ways to go, but so far everything is going well. They said before they started it could be up to 6 hours. I really hope not.

In Surgery

Ari is back in the OR and asleep at this point. This was our hardest pre-op to date. She cooperated with everyone, but mentally she was really scared and asking a lot of really hard questions. She really understands everything that is coming up and remembers the last few trips to the hospital in perfect detail. She'll probably be here for a few days as they need to make a repair. For now I need to take my mind off of this and wait to hear when they start the actual surgery.

Waiting for check-in

5:30am and we are here waiting for check-in. Lily is here this time and she is up and relaxing with her tablet. Ari is very stressed out. Mainly about the mask they use at the start of surgery and the bandage they put on afterwards.
